We have put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions to allow our guests to know what to expect in anticipation of their visit to De Oude Pastorie Guesthouse.

Q:  What do you serve for breakfast?

A:  You will enjoy a two-course gourmet breakfast that will be personally prepared and served to you by the owners.   We serve delicious freshly ground and brewed coffee, an assortment of teas, two 100% fruit juices, and fresh seasonal fruit platter from our local region.  We get fresh eggs harvested daily from our free-range hens, prepared as follows:  poached, fried, boiled, omelet or scrambled and served with tomatoes, mushrooms and bacon.  A cheese and cold meat platter will complement this superb country breakfast.

Q:   Do you cater for vegetarian, gluten-free, diabetic and vegan guests?

A:   Yes, we are also listed at Vegan SA and we would appreciate receiving prior notice of any allergies or special dietary requirements. 

Q:  Is there a manager on duty 24 hours a day?

A:   It is our pleasure to be available to guests at their convenience as we, the owners, reside on the property.

Q:   Do you have private tables for breakfast?

A:    Our dining room features private tables as well as tables for four of our guests travelling with a group.  Weather permitting; it is also pleasant to serve breakfast on our front porch.

Q:   When are Check-in and Check-out times?

A:   Our check-in begins at 14:00 until 19:00 and our check out time is at 10:30. However, when possible, we offer our guests the opportunity to arrive early or depart late via prior arrangement.

Q:  How far are you from restaurants?

A:   De Oude Pastorie House is a safe 2 to 5 minute walk from top restaurants, such as Powell House and Koornlands Restaurant.

Q:  Do you have private bathrooms?

A:  Each guestroom has a private en-suite bathroom with either a Victorian bath or walk-in shower, with some rooms offering both options such as the Pharao and Eden suites, and the Cherry room.

Q:  Do you allow children?

A:  We accept children that are 12 years of age or older.

Q:  Do you allow pets?

A:  While we love animals, we unfortunately do not allow pets.

Q:  Do you allow smoking?

A:  We do not allow smoking inside the guesthouse, but we do have locations outside on the premises where smoking is permitted.

Q: Is your establishment wheelchair friendly?

A:  We are unfortunately not allowed to make any alterations to accommodate wheelchairs to the manor house and building because it is a heritage building./national monument.

Q:  Do you offer reservation services?

A:  We will gladly book your table at a restaurant and arrange for transport services to nearby attractions.

Q:  When is breakfast served?

A:  We serve breakfast daily in the breakfast room or porch (weather permitting) from 08:00 until 09:30, but will happily make arrangements for early-risers when possible.

Q:  Do you have Wi-Fi?

A:  We offer free Wi-Fi in all guest rooms and public areas.

Q:  Do you have a swimming pool?

A:  We have a saltwater swimming pool (11 m x 4 m), perfect to cool down during the summer! 

Q:  Which credit cards do you accept?

Q:  We accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express credit cards.
